Join us on the education lawn for a short story time followed by a special animal chat geared towards young children and their caretakers. Times and dates will be announced soon.
Zoo Tiny Tots
We are excited to offer another session our favorite program for toddlers and their grown-ups this fall! Bring your 2-4 year old for a fun educational program facilitated by zoo staff as we learn about animal coverings. Choose from either Thursday or Saturday mornings from 9-10:30 AM.
August 11th or 13th: Fur
August 18th or 20th: Feathers
August 25th or 27th: Scales
We believe that children learn through play so our Zoo Tiny Tots curriculum is written to guide parents in fun activities aligned to the Kansas Early Learning Standards. We will practice gross and fine motor skills through games and crafts, build social and emotional awareness through interacting with peers and zoo animals, and incorporate age-appropriate math, science, and literacy standards over the series. Families are invited to stay for facilitated play time at the end of the program. For more details, contact Jessica.Wright@hutchgov.com.
*We will be following Reno County guidelines regarding COVID-19 precautions. While we are planning to host this program inside the Education Center and around the zoo, we will contact registered participants via email if we need to move to a virtual format.
